Top 5!

Top 5 Adam Sandler Movies
The top 5 Adam Sandler movies are as follows:
1)   Mr. Deeds
2)   Billy Madison
3)   Big Daddy
4)   Happy Gilmore
5)   That’s My Boy
First, here’s some background information on Adam Sandler himself…
Adam Sandler (Sandman) was born in Brooklyn, New York on September, 9th. 1966. When he was only 17 years old her took the stage at a comedy club in Boston spontaneously. There, he found he was a natural comic. Years go by and he experiences many different comedy related jobs. Now, he is one of the most famous hilarious actors. He can make you laugh until you’re blue in the face and clutching your stomach from the pain, in just the matter of seconds.
In a movie I look for mainly how well the actors/actress’ play their roles; or in this case, how Adam Sandler fits in the movie. Also, the plot can mean a lot when rating a film.
In fifth place comes That’s My Boy. Adam Sandler plays as the main character, Donny whom is still in his teens. Donny fathers a son, Todd. Donny raises Todd as a single parent until Todd’s 18th birthday. Donny and Todd haven’t seen one another for years and when Todd’s world starts to turn all around and be terrible on the day before his wedding, Donny shows up. Donny tries his heart out to become closer with his son and deal with how badly he has parented Todd.
In fourth comes Happy Gilmore, an old hockey player attempts to raise money for his under fire from the IRS grandmother. In order to save the house, he has to find a way to raise $270,000. Since Gilmore had experience in hockey, he managed to win a golf open by being able to drive the ball to phenomenal distances. Feeling threatened by Gilmore, Shooter McGavin begins to insult him. Gilmore’s new goal was to only beat Shooter rather than make the money, that he had forgotten completely about.
In third is Big Daddy. A lazy man known as Sonny Koufax stars in the movie. He seems to have no purpose in life as well as having issues when trying to focus which makes his girlfriend leave him. So, in order to prove that he has the ability to be responsible, he adopts a kid. Instead of just trying to get his girlfriend back by getting the kid, things get complicated and he becomes attached to his son.
In second is Billy Madison, a film by Robert Simonds productions. In the film, Adam Sandler plays an immature and lazy man that must repeat grades 1-12 all over again in order to be able to inherit his fed up father’s hotel empire. In the film, Billy ends up winning but gives away the hotel empire to a dear friend, and someone who could take care of it more properly.
In first place comes Mr. Deeds. A small pizzeria owner and poet, known as Longfellow Deeds gains $40 billion from his deceased uncle. He then moves to the big city and begins to be overwhelmed with people continuously trying to gain some of his money. A TV reporter named Babe pretends to be a small-town girl in hope to gain money from Deeds. Babe ends up falling in love with Deeds, but later on Deeds discovers money can change a lot but it doesn’t need to change him.

Finding Forrester Review

                                                           Finding Forrester Review
Finding Forrester is a fantastic tale by Columbia Productions directed by Gus Van Sant. It was released on December 19th, 2000.  The main characters of Finding Forrester are Jamal Wallace (Rob Brown) the creative young man; Forrester (Sean Connery) the crazy old alcoholic that lives alone in his apartment; Crawford (F. Murray Abraham) the rude instructor and finally Claire (Anna Paguin) the sweet young girl that sees Jamal for who he really is just by meeting him for the first time.

Jamal Wallace is a very talented young writer, but since he’s afro-American and from the Bronx so he’s not exactly known for his talent; but for his culture’s reputation. Throughout the story we find out how friendships and relationships can be built through the art of writing. Finding Forrester a phenomenal tale between a boy, and an elderly man and how they share a special talent.

Finding Forrester can be compared to many different things, but the relationship between the two main characters can be recognized often. Jamal and Forrester have a love hate relationship and this happens in many different movies or shows. A relationship like this has happened in the movie Billy Madison, although Finding Forrester is much less comical. This comparison is brought upon because of how the father of Billy in the film had never believed in him, he ended up being successful. In Finding Forrester, Forrester almost takes on the father figure of Jamal, the only issue is that Forrester believed in Jamal the entire way through but had only dropped hints about it.

The acting of the film was unreal amazing, everyone fit their part perfectly. Sean Connery was definitely one of the best choices they could have picked for Forrester. Connery easily made us interested because of his behavior throughout the film. Rob Brown also did a great job at getting people intrigued, he played his part with so much intensity. Also, the setting of the film was a wise decision. They brought an afro-American from the Bronx to a more complex and safer part of New York City, to go to school. Jamal looked so dumbfound because he didn’t appear to be as intelligent as the rest. Or at least they make it seem that way.

The points of friendship and love are brought out throughout this movie at many points. The film shows how relationships can be built in the most unexpected places, in the most indifferent times.

Billy Madison- Comical or terrible?

Billy Madison Review
http://www.movie-gurus.com/content/reviews/b/193/index.html

I selected the film review of the movie Billy Madison because it lists both good and bad qualities of the movie. It includes the facts that the movie is extremely comical, but yet it tends to be all over the place. The review has many key factors that would definitely made the film better, but I disagree with a great amount of them. It explains that certain characters chosen for the film didn't fit their part, but I most definitely disagree. The actors in the film did a phenomenal job at making the movie hilarious and worth watching. Having Adam Sandler as the lead was a fantastic choice because he's what made the people love the movie. It also indicates that the movie started off good, but by the end it was boring. Yet again, I beg to differ, it kept me in tears of laughter the entire way through. The review does have a few tiny spoilers, but not enough to completely ruin the movie for the readers.

Overall, this film review was good, and they most definitely exploited their opinion. Even though I didn't agree with most of their points. Perhaps it's because I'm a huge Adam Sandler fan, or I just simply disagree with what they are trying to say.

Billy Madison is an amazing, comical film about a young man trying to inherit his fathers hotel empire fortune. But Billy ends up academically fighting (going back to school from grades 1-12) against a witty business man because Billy's father doesn't believe that his son is mature enough to handle the fortune. So, if I had to do a movie review it would most definitely be Billy Madison. I honestly memorized all of the words of the film, and the more I watch it, the more I love it.

Writing Inventory

During my spare time, I do tend to write a little bit. It may not be a short story, nor a novel, I usually release my thoughts on paper about how much I hate or love someone. My favorite writer would have to be Lisa Schroeder, simply because she wrote my favorite book, "I Heart You, You Haunt Me".
The type of writing that comes easy for me would have to be informal writing. Essay writing is definitely more difficult for me mainly because most times I can't relate anything in an essay to my everyday life. I mostly get my writing ideas from what is happening around me. Such as happy, sad, and angry emotions.
A piece of writing that I am especially proud of is a poem written about the love and bond me and my 'Grandaddy' have shared. I usually produce 1-2 drafts before completing a piece of writing, but with my poem I didn't change anything.
When I write, I believe that my voice is my biggest strength, just because when I write, I write the same way as I speak. As for my weaknesses, I have a difficult time being creative.  My favorite subject to write about would have to be drama because it includes love and hate relationships.
My goals for this semester would be improving on all of my writing flaws.

Jaguar

Viscious Colossal Jaguar on a Death Tear
MEXICO- The Copper Canyon Times
Thursday, July 10th, 1997
There have been multiple sightings of an overgrown jaguar in Copper Canyon, Mexico. As well as three attacks and two deaths. This is a warning to the people of Copper Canyon, as well as its surrounding areas that they must be prepared. Under an inference, the jaguar seems to be pushing 275 lbs. and it is extremely hungry, angry, and harmful.

"Oh lord, why would I bring my family to a place like this? How stupid could I possibly be? I shouldn't have done this. " These are the dreadful thoughts that linger my mind as I read the frightening article from "Copper Canyon Times" in my home of 2 weeks.

My family of three and I are originally from New York, not in the middle of it where everyone comes from near and far to see, but a quiet little town, probably the safest town I've ever been in. My six year old son Shane had always spoke about how much he loved his home. As for my fifteen year old daughter, Ava, she's always wanted to travel somewhere else, somewhere different, beautiful, and extraordinary. That's why we've chosen the Canyon.

While sitting in my front porch swing I hear the most terrifying shriek to ever come out of my little boys mouth, "Mommy! Mommy help!" I run to my back yard, sweating from fear, petrified to see what's in store for me and my baby. All I can think is "God please, please don't let this happen." I look around the corner to find my little baby boy, beside his Tonka truck, being circled by the most gigantic creature I have ever seen. The monster let's out a deafening thunder of a roar, hissing and snapping at my Shane.

I'm shaking, but the first instinct I have is to cry and yell "Ava! Ava get the gun!" I grab the closest thing to me, which happens to be a scythe leaning against the house. I start jabbing at the jaguar, trying to get it away from Shane, but it's got it's eye on the target, my tiny boy. Ava runs out of the house with the shotgun, she freezes, I scream over and over,"Ava! Ava! Ava!" she finally gets back to reality holds the gun up, she aims. The jaguar is now so close to Shane that her shot means life or death for her little brother.

She shoots. I clench my teeth and close my eyes...

How William Shatner Changed the World

What is possible in the world, is honestly amazing. Space travel, cell phones,  computers, medical technology and much more have advanced so much in just a short amount of time. But what is more breath taking, is that we, the people, have made it all. It's so weird to think about how we used to live without technology. Thinking about it, and how it is possible that Star Trek actually may have had an influence on what we have created. Who would of thought it would be possible to travel at the speed of light or maybe use the phone without a cord?! Today we take advantage of what the "geeks" have made but without them, these miraculous things wouldn't have happened without them.

One of the most amazing thing's we have made, I think, would have to be the cellphone. Can you believe that cellphones actually used to weigh 40 whole ounces, now they weigh less than 4! You used to be only able to make phone calls, but now you can search the web, message, play games, listen to music, "Facetime" and more! Advanced or what? Everything just keeps on getting better and better. I can't wait to see what wil come next.
